Artist Bio
Dustin Clark is a visual artist whose work explores the interplay between organic forms, life cycles, and humanity’s interaction with the natural world. A graduate of Florida State University with a BFA in Studio Art, Clark's work is rooted in the concepts of growth, decay, and the inevitable passage of time—central themes that shape both the materials he uses and the subjects he chooses to portray. Informed by the language of folklore, fables, art history and the esoteric, Clark’s artwork invites the viewer to reflect on humanity’s place within the natural world. Clark's practice spans printmaking and soft sculpture, allowing him to create rich, tactile narratives that capture the tension between life’s vitality and its inevitable decline. His pieces often feature figures entwined with flora, symbols of life, death, and transformation, creating a visceral visual language that enhances the emotional resonance of his pieces, imbuing them with a sense of both wonder and discomfort. Through the juxtaposition of delicate, illustrative line-work and the raw textures of his sculptures, he emphasizes the fragility and complexity of existence. His work is not only a meditation on the passage of time but also an invitation to reflect on humanity’s place within the ever-changing environment.
